🌱 About the Product
Q: What is the difference between a Greeting Card and a Gift Box?
A: A GiftaGreen greeting card is a plantable greeting card that contains organic microgreen seeds, a coco coir (soil) puck and a mixing stick. The recipient receives the card, then plants the seeds directly in the card's pouch — adds a little water— and within days they're growing fresh, edible microgreens. A: A GiftaGreen Gift Box contains a themed gift box package, 5 grow cups, 5 types of organic microgreen seeds, 5 coco coir (soil) pucks and a mixing stick. Recipients/Customers open the themed package, add a coco coir puck to each cup, add a little water, mix in the microgreen seeds and within days they're growing fresh, edible microgreens. Q: What are microgreens?
A: Microgreens are young, nutrient-dense seedlings of vegetables and herbs, harvested 7–21 days after germination when they are 1–3 inches tall, just after the first true leaves appear. They provide intense flavor, vibrant colors, and 4–40 times more nutrients than mature plants, making them popular in salads, sandwiches, and as garnishes.
Q: Are the seeds certified organic?
A: Yes! We use only certified organic seeds in all of our cards and gift boxes sourced from a well-known Canadian supplier. They are safe, healthy, and non-GMO.
Q: What varieties of microgreens do the cards grow?
A: Each card grows a different variety depending on the design — sunflower, kale, arugula, radish, broccoli, beet, basil, and more. The specific variety is listed on each product page, and the package of each product.
Q: Do I need soil or special equipment to grow them?
A: No soil is needed! The grow card includes everything required. Just add water and follow the simple instructions included with your card. The planting process takes about 5–10 minutes of hands-on time.
Q: How long does it take to grow the microgreens?
A: Most microgreens sprout within 2–4 days and are ready to harvest and eat within 7–10 days. Growing times may vary slightly by variety.
Q: Are the products safe for children?
A: Yes! Growing microgreens is a fun, hands-on activity for kids of all ages. The seeds and grown greens are safe to eat. As always, adult supervision is recommended for very young children.

Q: Do GiftaGreen products expire?
A: Technically no, however we strongly suggest growing your card or giftboxes within 18-24 months to ensure the seeds and soil contain proper nutrients to grow.
Q: Can I write a personal message on the greeting card?
A: Yes! There is space on the back of each greeting card to write your own personal message (just like a postcard).
Q: Can I write a personal message on the gift box?
A: There is an area to write "to and from" however there is not an area to write a personal message. (include a card with your gift box to also add a message)
Q: Do you offer bulk or corporate orders?
A: Yes! We offer wholesale and corporate pricing for bulk orders — perfect for employee gifts, client appreciation, events, and fundraisers. Contact us at info@giftagreen.com or visit our Wholesale page for more details.
Q: Can I buy a multi-pack of cards and gift boxes?
A: Yes! We offer 5-pack, 10-pack, and 25-pack options for most greeting card designs and bulk gift boxes can also be purchased. These are perfect for businesses, offices, or anyone who loves to give unique gifts.

A: Shipping rates are free for greeting cards!
A: Shipping Rates are flat for the first 2 gift boxes, but free shipping applies to 3 or more gift boxes.
Q: Do you ship internationally?
A: At this time we ship within Canada and the United States only.
Q: Can I send a card directly to the recipient?
A: Absolutely! Just enter the recipient's address as the shipping address at checkout and add your comments to the "Special Instructions to seller" section in the cart page. We will print the packing slip which will include your message and send with the items.

Q: How do I store the card before planting?
A: Store your card in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. The seeds will stay viable for up to 18-24 months before planting.
Q: The seeds aren't sprouting — what do I do?
A: Make sure the pouch and/or grow cups are kept moist but not waterlogged, and placed in a warm spot with access to indirect sunlight. If you're still having trouble, email us at info@giftagreen.com and we'll help you troubleshoot.
